DIY Blue-and-White Polka Dots Skirt
Again, from Chictopia, I got an idea of what I would wear when I go to Singapore. I searched for the keyword "Singapore" and found a member from there. Mustard yellow was my apple-of-the-eye that time, and when I saw Ashes's outfit, I told myself, "This is what I'm going to wear in Singapore."
However, I didn't wear the outfit in Singapore because I decided to buy couple shirts for me and my boyfriend. I ended up wearing this skirt—my oeuvre and I'm proud of it—from Diosdado Macapagal International Airport, Philippines to the Low Cost Carrier Terminal-Malaysia and off to Kuala Lumpur.
I only failed to find at Divisoria a heart-designed garment, so I opted to use polka dots.
Enough with the intro and excuses. Here is how I made the skirt.
First, I laid flat my denim mini skirt as the pattern, giving each side an inch of allowance for the seam and the extra cellulites. HAHA.
Then, I asked Mom if I could use, for the lining, my old sleeping gown, which she gave to me as a birthday present few years ago. I seldom use it anyway. She said yes, but was being sentimental. Well, this was for a good cause so I carried on.After putting together both side ends, with the lining, I folded the edge first by 1/2 inch and next by 1 inch to to avoid ripping of the garment.
Then, the I attached the navy blue zipper on the left side.
And sewed the waistband, too. Finally, the hook and eye to lock the waistband.
Voila! I got a new skirt again!
And, here's my inspiration. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Ashes of Sleep walks Nine to Five. Thanks, Gurl.

DIY Funky White Top for our 20th Monthsary Lunch Date
I seldom used this white shirt—even though it has nice prints, because it was kind of small on the shoulder and armpit parts. As I thought of what I was going to wear this afternoon for my lunch date with Yobs at Tagaytay City, I immediately get this shirt from the closet and cut it into a nice sleeveless, seamless, and funky white top. My mom gave me the idea of putting a shoe lace-like design on the front neckline to add a little bit of attitude and style.
Because Tagaytay City is among the coldest places in the Philippines, I wore the shirt with a black cardigan to protect me from the breezy wind in the city—not to mention that I was also not confident with my chubby arms so I had to cover and make them look thinner.
Now, this is me during our rooftop lunch date at the Pamana Restaurant.

DIY Lovely Pair of Shorts
From what I frequently see on other Chictopians, I was inspired to make my own chic shorts from a pair of capri pants I bought in a thrift store. I made it one Saturday morning, while I was bored at home.

And here's my final product—a lovely DIY chic shorts!
Thanks to Breanne of Flattery.ca for the inspiration!
First, I cut it for my desired length.
Then, I temporarily pinned and sewed with basting stitches so that I could sew it in the machine perfectly straight.
I cut the excess cutouts into equally measured, length-wise pieces for the ribbon belt.
I also kept these belt-like button holes and buttons, which I removed from the edge of the original pants, so I could make them as holder and ruffle-maker on both sides of the shorts. And here's my final product—a lovely DIY chic shorts!

Off to Baby Shayne's Funeral
...smiling in the outside, grieving in the inside... |
In the Philippines, wearing black or white is the proper attire during a wake or a funeral. Loud colors are prohibited, to give due respect to the dead and to show sympathy to the bereaved family.
I chose to wear black—to hide unwanted fats. I gained much weight in the past months and it was really hard to lose the pounds. I tried to do the silhouette trick; however, it didn’t succeed. I was told by some relatives that I am getting chubbier. Oh, well, thanks a lot.
We will miss baby Shayne. Please pray for the repose of our little angel’s soul.
Also, if it's not too much, please follow me on CHICTOPIA!

I'm Ready for Singapore
Today is a busy Monday but before I proceed to my office work, I spent some time doing a sketch of how I will look on my trip to Singapore. I am no expert in drawing but I tried my very best to come up with the nearest detailed oeuvre to my imagination. So here goes...

So, how do you find my sketch? Or say, my Singapore outfit-to-be?
This is me on that day:

DIY Silver-plated Necklace with "N" Pendant
I just love doing DIY projects now and just this morning, before I go to work, I made an instant long-chained necklace. I recycled the silver-plated chain from an old necklace and used a letter "N" key chain as pendant. The key chain was a Christmas gift to me by my Superfriend Edel's brother, Danison. It has been hanging on the rack for a long while and hasn't served its real purpose, so before it olden, I thought of using it as a very nice pendant. It stands for my name, Nicely.
Do you see the flower on top of the "N" pendant? Well, that was actually a part of a pair of earrings I used to have during my first year at work. I lost the other half, so I kept the remaining half in my jewelry box assuming that someday it will be of good use. My assumption is right. One gemstone in the "N" pendant is missing—or broken I don't know, so to cover the empty space, I cut the stem of the flower earring and glued it on the blank part.
Voila! It's what I'm wearing now. Isn't it nice?

Ukay-Ukay Hub in Tagaytay City
Today I don't feel like doing anything ♫ ♪
I just wanna lay in my bed ♪ ♫I am so lazy to move today. Thanks to Bruno Mars for inspiring me. Haha.
But since today is a Sunday, I had to go to church with Mom. And as she says, we're heading off to Tagaytay, I didn't had a second thought, knowing that there are lots of ukay-ukay stores there. After the mass, we came across this thrift shop and saw a wide variety of clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories.

Second choice is a purple, asymmetrical top with stylish sleeves and a black zipper on the waist part, which comes as a design. I love the unique design of the sleeves and the zipper that gives curve to my voluptuous figure.
However, there are some stains on the back, left sleeve part. I used my hagging charm this time and asked the cashier to give me a less. From P180, she gave it for P150. Nice try. Success!
These are all for now, as Mom got tired already. Next time, I will look for more thrift shops in Tagaytay and canvass which of them offer better items in a cheaper price.

This is my first ever Converse shoes. I know some of you may have owned one or more since birth (baby shoes?) but I only acquired a pair just now. Here comes the saying, "There is always a first time for everything."
I bought it for only P1,930 at Converse-SM Department Store, Manila. My boyfriend bought his own pair, too, for P2,390, with the same color and style—now, that makes our first ever couple shoes! Yebah!

Hi, guys! I just want to share with you my new look, after my friend, AR, rebonded my hair.
This was me last May 2011. Notice that my hair from the roots up to almost 3 inches is already wavy. That was the regrowth of my hair since November 2010, which was my last treatment by AR in that year.
It is funny how I tried to hide my starting-to-curl-again crown of glory, especially during special occasions and events. Most of the times, I did it this way—with the help of headbands.
Then, last July, I again consulted her and asked her to service me. We took more than 4 hours to finish the job. And so this is how I look now, by the magic of AR's hand.
See how big the difference is? It's what I call, Gandang AR. Haha.I started my hair rebonding treatment by AR three years ago and I keep on coming back to her salon, even if I live in Cavite. I won't try other salons because most of them are deceiving. They promise a lot, but in the end, I only get disappointed.
AR is the best and expert for me when it comes to hair rebonding. She was professionally trained by the Ricky Reyes Learning Institute as a senior hair stylist, worked at Jimmy Lu in Cubao, and now runs her own salon, the Aurora Salon, in Novaliches. She also offers hair and eyelashes extensions, and goes for home HMU service. She uses organic, high-standard treatments, which are mild and hypoallergenic. So there's no need to worry.
This is my hair fairy, AR.
Interested to try her beauty services? Or maybe you need a hair and make-up stylist on your wedding day, debut celebration, or want to have a grand makeover? Just leave your message on the comment section below for her contact number.
Here are photos of her salon, too, in case you want to see.
